The Five Saints Distillery opened in 2016. The 9,000-square-foot property features alcohol stills and a bar and displays memorabilia from the Humane Fire Co. The micro-distillery also acts as a music venue and hosts yoga classes every Saturday morning. “Norristown is ready for revitalization,” the owner says. “And we want to help make it happen.”

The Former Erie Malleable Iron redevelopment plan includes preserving approximately 78,000 ft of the original facility. 100,000 sq. ft. of new construction will accompany the restoration effort to construct a new business park.

The GCIDA, with the support of the County Commissioners, leveraged US EPA Brownfields Assessment grant funding to facilitate the redevelopment of a vacant former automotive fueling and service station into a commercial business.

Taylor Colliery
Beginning in 1856 and for more than a century, the Taylor Colliery was best known for coal mining and heavy industry. The 150-acre site provided nearly 700 jobs for the Taylor Borough community in its heyday.
